When Vicky was growing up, she loved a cartoon called Jem and the Holograms and had some of the dolls. They each came with a cassette of music from the programme as well as fabulous outfits and amazing multi-coloured hair. Best of all, the main character, Jem, had flashing earrings!
Years later, she was working on an exhibition about children’s television programmes and wanted to include Jem in it, so she bought herself a doll from an online auction to lend for the display. Then she decided she needed another one to keep it company, then she got a bit carried away…
